I’m sorry, tumblr user alexislynn10, but to say that “Don’t let society dictate who you date” is the “only smart remark from South Park” is a pretty big statement given that it’s a television series that has run since 1997 and has 16 seasons and 237 episodes.

I am outraged by the fact that you would insinuate that South Park is such an unintelligent show, that its brightest line was “Don’t let society dictate who you date.”

Allow me to list for you some other excellent moments in South Park, since you seem to be unaware:

In the episode Death (Season 1) the four boys’ parents leave the children unattended while they protest the boys’ favorite television show, which they find inappropriate for their children. At the end of the episode Kyle Broflovski remarks, "I think that parents only get so offended by television because they rely on it as a babysitter and the sole educator of their kids."

In the episode Conjoined Fetus Lady (Season 2) all the adults in the town of South Park decide to create an awareness week for the school’s nurse who has a (fictional) disorder, called Conjoined Twin Myslexia. Despite the Nurse’s disorder being fictional, her feelings towards being singled out are very realistic: at the end of the episode she angrily tells the residents “I just wanted to do my job and live my life like any normal person, but instead you’ve made everybody focus on my handicap all week long…I don’t want to be treated different. I don’t want to be treated special or treated gingerly. I just want to be ridiculed, shouted at, and made fun of like all the rest of you do to each other.”

In Chef Aid (Season 2) Mr. Twig tells Mr. Garrison, “Love isn’t a decision, it’s a feeling.  If we could decide who we love, it would be much simpler, but much less magical.”

In the episode Raisins (Season 7) Butters says to Stan, “I’m sad, but at the same time I’m really happy that something could make me feel that sad. It’s like, it makes me feel alive, you know? It makes me feel human. And the only way I could feel this sad now is if I felt something really good before. So I have to take the bad with the good, so I guess what I’m feeling is like a, beautiful sadness.”

In the episode Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset (Season 8) Paris Hilton sells her brand of toys to the girls of South Park who idolize her for being rich and spoiled. Wendy remarks to her father, “It seems that lewdness and shallowness are being exalted, while intellectualism is looked down upon. I think young women are being marketed to by corrupt, moral-less corporations.”

In the episode Cartman Sucks (Season 11) Butters’ parents believe that Butters is bisexual, and send him the a camp where they “pray the gay away.” Fed up with other people telling him about his own sexuality, Butters exclaims, “I’m not gonna be confused anymore just because you say I should be! My name is Butters, I’m eight years old, I’m blood type O, and I’m bicurious! And even that’s okay! Because if I’m bicurious, and I’m somehow made from God, then I think your God must be a little bicurious himself!”

The episode Eat. Pray, Queef (Season 13) uses the comedic approach, comparing farts to queefs, to explore the double standards that still exist  between men and women.

There are so many other good examples of how brilliant the show South Park is; these are just a few.

I know I singled out tumblr user alexislynn10 for just one comment, but I’ve heard so many comments discrediting South Park, when in fact it’s a really great show full of satire and social commentary.
